The more you study the Great Books, the more insane and unemployable you become. On the upside tho, you stop caring about those things around 5 years in. Instead, you care about pastries and local tap water quality.

Was reading Descartes at Starbucks earlier today and a seemingly normal guy who recognized the cover proceeded to go on a rant about how philosophers can't predict the future, particularly events and stock prices. Two German tourists nearby were rendered speechless. Incredible.
