The voice actor put their soul into “oh brother this guy stinks” they need an award. I feel like it accurately depicts the frustration of witnessing some bullshit.

Aang intentionally not killing Ozai makes him a better character. He’s the last of his people and single handedly has to keep their customs and traditions alive. Nobody else can understand that but him. People want him to be kyoshi, but he is Aang.
The only reason people believed Aang needed to kill Ozai and throw away his principles to do it is because everyone gaslit him into believing it was the right thing to do. It's the argument for every pacifist character when they find an alternative to killing.
