Announcements for Open Mind, an MIT Press Open Access journal for Cognitive Science 1. We are now “Diamond” access for the foreseeable future (at least 2 years at this point): this means there are NO CHARGES for publication (or submission, or anything)

I have recently discovered that many people actually have an "inner voice" and they hear themselves talking when they think. Apparently, I am something of an outlier: I don't have any inner voice, perhaps similar to aphantasia (no visual imagery). Do you have an inner voice?

This letter says it is not trying to "cancel" Steve Pinker. But the explicit point of the letter is to take him off the LSA Fellows list and take away his influence in the LSA. This seems like canceling. Also, someone signed Ray Jackendoff's name: Ray did not sign that letter.

Chomsky in: statepress.com/article/2019/0…: "The idea that language has evolved as a system of communication, or designed for communication, makes no sense." Who needs evidence and argumentation? Let's just state that this idea "makes no sense".

my mum died a week ago, of alzheimer's at 95. I was close to her. My sister and I put together a slide show of photos of her, and I am astounded by how similar my mum at 2yrs looks like my daughter now (her namesake) so moving right now.

A student got the following review, scored "poor" for their NSF postdoc application: "The PI has a solid publication record but all are collaborative projects. The PI's role appears to have been that of a data scientist..." Frustrating to say the least.
