Ngl I hate this approach to storytelling in animated movies, its kinda boring and restricts further character development, its the reason Hiccup is so widely beloved but then again you dont go to despicable me for the story anyways

I dont think this scene is talked about enough imo, if you have the added context of seeing Stoick and Toothless' bond in the shows, it makes this scene gutpunch 10x worse Dreamworks were ballsy to have Toothless kill Hiccups dad unknowingly, this scene is fantastic
