Happy 40th Anniversary to Super Mario Bros. 2 (J), my favorite speedgame
- I beat the World Record for Super Mario Bros. Any%! 4:55.646! This is truly everything I've ever wanted to accomplish with this speedrun. It's hard to express how good this run is. It will be beaten, but that's for someone else to do. Thank you everyone!
- For over 12 years the World Record for beating Super Mario Bros. Warpless has been 19:XX, but TODAY THAT CHANGED. I finally did it! I got 18:59.856!!! First 18:XX ever!!!
- Somehow I beat the Super Mario Bros. world record TWICE in one night, one of which was the very first 4:55 run ever. Here it is, 4:55.913! It's still improvable, but wow I cant believe I pulled this off. This also completes my 1st place leaderboard sweep! youtube.com/watch?v=Gum4GI…

- Something very big was found in smb1 today by @gtace99 piranha plant in tall pipe despawn 4:54 could actually be a thing lol...
- humans have now tied the smb1 any% TAS on every level up to 8-4

- This has to be one of the most unlikely things that has ever happened to someone in this game. I imagine it has to have happened to *someone* random out there while playing it casually over the past 30 years... imagine how confused you'd be lol. Read this thread for infoReplying to @TwirlinCurtisWe figured it out! The hammer hitboxes actually freeze on screen after you grab the axe. It seems Mario is invincible during the cutscene, except for the moment when the mushroom is about to drop on him (game checks his powerup state, and he becomes vulnerable?)
