No it isn’t. Fast food is 30-50 dollars for a haul now. I’d say 20% of less of my friend group is alright. Everyone else is paycheque to paycheque. And they’re the stable job and 6 figure types. There’s a depression coming and people don’t want to admit it.

This is a crazy take. People today say they feel much worse about the economy than they have felt about objectively far worse economic situations in the past. Consumer sentiment was lower in Nov. than it was in April 2009, at the depths of the Great Recession. That's vibes.

The people who are keeping their head above water all: Work multiple jobs, run a business or get comp’d extra via tips or OT $300+ grocery bills are the norm now. Gas is expensive, as is rent and mortgages. Utilities are only going up. The whole thing is unsustainable.
