“We don’t eat meat. It’s OK if you do, but not in this house” “Near UCSC and beach” (not possible to be near both) “You are not allowed to use the kitchen. Microwave provided” I don’t miss Santa Cruz apartment hunting.

Unless they know something about your field, the relevant responses are basically only this or a kind of awkward “oh cool” that stunts the conversation. Their message has a playful tone to it, it doesn’t need to be taken so seriously.

He probably never sat down at a piano and tried to play, and he probably thinks that all the arm motions and complicated finger positions he sees pianists do are just for show and don’t affect how it sounds.

According to the article, he did, but he thought he was smarter than all the other Johns and that they had their numbers wrong, so he was “fixing” it.

Derek I just gotta say that I appreciate how you’re so outspoken about the politics associated with clothing/fashion. It’s a relevant topic for pretty much every content niche, but very few content creators are willing to go there for fear of alienating their audience.

Virtually every software company uses GitHub for something (most commonly third-party open source stuff) but quite a lot don’t use GitHub to host their own codebases (which is what @gabrielfv_ clearly meant).

Wild. Only a handleful of occurrences before the sketch, and if you go actually search Google Books, all of the 20th century ocurrences are mentions of people actually named “Debbie Downer,” not the expression.

I like this old comic page that depicts Obi-Wan and his two Jedi pupils: Darth Vader and Luke’s father, who are separate people, with the former already in his suit and helmet and the latter sporting the most ridiculous haircut I’ve ever seen
