To my knowledge, Epstein was first arrested in 2006 & pleaded guilty in 2008. Chomsky should have cut him off after that, but Chomsky moved to University of Arizona in 2017 and Epstein was caught again in 2019, so it's possible this was written before he was caught a second time

but for the sake of argument, how is what you're doing not also a form of virtue signaling?
this coping doesn't even help the US because this belief that China is "behind" doesn't create the sense of urgency that the US needs to do more to for its own industries, but hey, racist cope is cheaper than building productive infrastructure
