NEW: In 2020, as President Trump tried to overturn his loss to Joe Biden, the institutional guardrails of American democracy held — barely. A @propublica investigation found that, ahead of the midterms, Trump has systematically demolished those guardrails. 🧵

🧵I filled out a web form for Clean Elections USA, the AZ drop box watchers accused of voter intimidation, expecting to get on an email list. Imagine my surprise when I was given access to a discussion board & nationwide contact list w/ 4500+ names/emails. Here's what I found:

Breaking: Maricopa County announces it will not use any of the voting equipment that has been in the hands of Cyber Ninjas again. County was required under subpoenas to give most of the $6 million in equipment it leases from Dominion to the Senate for the audit.

Breaking: Vote-counting machines aren't working properly at about 20% of vote centers in Maricopa County. Listening to a press conference on the issue, they haven't said why.

BREAKING: During midterm election, election officials in an Arizona county saw glaring errors in ballot counts, but didn’t say anything & certified results anyway. The elections director collected $25K bonus and fled. My latest investigation @VotebeatUS:
People hold ballots near ballot tabulators in room
Errors. Red flags. A big payday. Records show how one Arizona county’s election disaster unfolded.

THIS IS FALSE. If you already checked in at a site having issues, go to a poll worker and have them check you out before you leave. If you do this, you can still vote normally at any other location in the county. Please everyone stop spreading misinformation.

If you have already *checked in* at a Maricopa County voting location where the tabulators do not work, you should *not* leave and go to another location without casting a vote. Your provisional ballot at the new location likely will not count. (1/2)
    Readers added context
Per the Maricopa County Election Department, this is false. There have been tabulator problems for 20% of the ballots, there is a redundancy in place and the ballot will be placed in a secure box to be hand-counted. If you check out instead, you CAN vote at another location. twitter.com/MaricopaVote/s…

For the past 6 months, I've been chasing down every lead I can on one very important aspect of the Arizona election audit. Tomorrow morning, I get to share with you everything I've learned. I'll see you at 7 a.m.

Here's everything I found about the coordinated, national movement to watch drop boxes (Organized in part by '2000 Mules' creators). The intention is to send the photos & videos of voters to local sheriffs in "real-time," alleging illegal voting.
