1/ I'm going to take a moment on this one, because this argument is ... wrong. During the Augustine Commission we had an actual study done. The argument is wrong because in a multiple launch architecture most of the launches are just propellant tanks and you have spares!

Finn was a case where the sequel films walked right up to a compelling new character with great story potential, introduced him, had a talented actor playing him, and then immediately recoiled in horror, because we can't do THAT.

I really never thought vote fraud was a significant factor in our elections until I saw how Democrats fight any attempt to clean up the voter rolls as though their political lives depended on it. Which makes me suspect that they do.

That is a relevant comparison. Why wasn't it? Because Lucasfilm at the time had a creative vision, they had a story they wanted to tell, so they kept going. I haven't had that feeling about any post-Disney Lucasfilm products.

I can't overstate the degree to which the TSA reshaped society and I LOATHE IT. Changed the shoes I wear. No longer carry a knife. Conditioned a generation of Americans to be "good Germans". Submit. Don't ask questions. Papers please. Arbitrary authority without law.

Honestly, it's a miracle that *anyone* retains their love of reading after public school. Being forced to spend an hour talking about one or two pages reading aloud and discoursing on "what do you think the author meant here" just KILLS the pleasure of reading a book.
