I told @GBNEWS that Iran today is not comparable to Iraq or Afghanistan in earlier eras. Iranian society is overwhelmingly anti-Islamist with a strong national identity, highly educated, and already familiar with political processes like election campaigns and party formation.

Restricting Iran’s access to hard currency is imperative:exerting pressure on Ankara, Abu Dhabi, and Baghdad to scale back their trade with Tehran. Assertive measures against Beijing include directly designating Chinese firms, vs merely sanctioning front companies.

To deflect the humiliating defeat of Assad’s collapse, Iranian officials have claimed that the Tehran-Damascus alliance had been weakening, and Iran no longer aimed to preserve the Assad dynasty. However, leaks from Tehran and insights into Iranian regional strategy tell a

The regime’s strategy is one of damage control and it believes it can eventually recover in Southern Lebanon so long as there remains a foundation to build upon. Tehran is cultivating an image of total warfare through a series of disparate yet calculated attacks via proxies.

Iran’s intelligence network is not a monolithic entity but a web of competing and cooperating factions: IRGC Intel, QF, and MOI each play distinct yet overlapping roles in conducting assassinations, abductions, and sabotage operations worldwide.

Despite allegedly leaked documents from US agencies and Tehran’s intelligence operations aimed at disrupting an Israeli response, Iran is bracing itself for an attack on its nuclear facilities. This has intensified after Hezbollah’s botched attempt to assassinate Netanyahu.

As we approach the upcoming elections in Europe, the next EU parliament ought to meaningfully counter the Islamic Republic’s growing malign influence across the continent, including by designating the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization.

The question is what method Israel will employ to carry out the attacks to effectively deter Tehran without escalating. Israel has two choices: either publicly demean the regime or launch a series of covert attacks, and the latter is less likely to provoke Tehran’s retaliation.

Tehran’s setbacks paved the way for Ankara’s ascent. The Ankara-backed Azerbaijan’s triumph over Tehran-backed Armenia, Turkish-supported militias outmaneuvering Iran’s influence in Syria, and now, the unraveling of the Iran-backed PKK further tilts the balance in Turkey’s favor.
