- Yale's R. Shankar's ignorance of quantum mechanics is so profound that he has written one of the best textbooks on the subject (imho the best if you enjoy wit). I had occasion to use Shankar's introduction (with attribution) in my undergraduate lecture today after a studentPhysics professor discloses in 1 minute the full insight of Quantum Mechanics.
00:00 - Grateful to be recognized by @wolfprize for the composite fermion, and to be in the company of two incredible physicists I greatly admire. The honor truly belongs to my students, collaborators and numerous other researchers whose brilliant work transformed the composite fermionFor their groundbreaking contributions to quantum matter and its technological potential, we are proud to award Jainendra Jain, Moty Heiblum, and James Eisenstein the 2025 Wolf Prize in Physics @Caltech @penn_state @WeizmannScience #wolfprize2025 #wolfprizelaureate
- It was a real privilege to have a memorable and deeply engaging conversation with Narayana Murthyāa visionary, philanthropist, and living legendāabout scientific research in India. I'm grateful for his unique perspective, wisdom, and inspiration.
- The Office of Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India congratulates @Jain_Physics and his fellow laureates on being awarded the prestigious Wolf Prize for Physics by The @WolfPrize_ , announced on March 10th, 2025. The Award is cited for: āAdvancing our

- Grateful to @IISERMohali for the kind hospitality! The insightful questions, lively discussions, and interactions with bright students and colleagues made it a thoroughly enjoyable visit. What an inspiring colloquium by Prof. Jainendra K. Jain today! He opened the doors to the strange new universe of composite fermions. Truly amazing! @Jain_Physics
- My talk at the KivelsonFest described the beautiful work by Aveek Bid et al @Physics_at_IISc (nature.com/articles/s4146ā¦) on a longstanding problem, demonstrating experimentally that the plateau transitions in the integer and fractional quantum Hall regimes are governed by the same

- Being elected Foreign Fellow of Indian National Science Academy is special. My profound gratitude to @insa_academy for welcoming me into this esteemed community of scientists and to @PhysicsAtPSU @PSUScience for providing me with incredible opportunities and support.Replying to @PSUScience and @Jain_PhysicsHe was elected for his research that predicted a new class of exotic particles, named ācomposite fermions.ā Read more at bit.ly/3YC5Zj2
- Can't wait to be in Jerusalem with my wife for the @WolfPrize_ ceremony, and at the Weizmann Institute for a symposium! It will be our first visit there. Then onward to India! Look forward to seeing family and friends.
