History has demonstrated time and time again that true change comes not from a single election or moment but from sustained work. I invite you to join LDF in these precarious times and fight to protect and advance American democracy and racial justice as we have always done.

I know we’re all still processing, but the way casual violence was normalized tonight by a collective national audience will have consequences that we can’t even fathom in the moment. #Oscars2022

Friendly reminder that the Supreme Court declined to hear McKesson v. Doe, leaving in place a ruling that a BLM protest organizer might be found liable for the actions of unrelated protesters. but, today showed leniency to actual rioters & J6 insurrectionists in Fischer v, U.S.

Not sure who needs to hear this, but the idea that reproductive rights are a form of eugenics is itself racist. It assumes that people of color and their families are incapable of deciding what’s best for them, making informed health decisions and being self-determined.

BREAKING: WE WON (AGAIN)! Alabama's massive resistance to the Supreme Court's order to draw a fair congressional map that dn discriminate against Black voters failed again. The court issued a 217 page order enjoining AL's plan and ordering a special master to create a new one.

It is impossible to overstate the havoc wrought by the Supreme Court this week. Six persons immune from accountability and who are themselves protected by taxpayer security and health insurance have endangered millions by reversing precedent on gun control and bodily autonomy.

The state of Alabama is lawlessly turning an already protracted act of massive disenfranchisement of Black voters into an act of massive resistance to a Supreme Court order. This is not just an act of racial discrimination. It is a threat to the rule of law. 1/5

This photo is excruciating. The terror is palpable. Never forget that Black Americans sacrificed their children to build this democracy & rehabilitate the humanity of a country that traded it for power & profit. And we are still sacrificing & fighting everyday to perfect America.

BREAKING: a new 93-page bill has been introduced in #Georgia. This omnibus voter suppression bill combines nearly every tactic to disfranchise Blk voters that we’ve seen to date. Advocates rec’d only 1 hour’s notice b4 the hearing. This is a hijacking of democracy in plain sight.
