A #NERC funded @StirUni-led study into the impact of people & the natural environment on #freshwater biodiversity, disease, genetics & ecosystem resilience
- An amazing amount of work went into this, great to see the results developing. Faecal indicator organisms are in almost every lake/pond studied, but the drivers of e.coli hotspots aren't clear. And finally... But truely brilliantly. Our last speaker of the afternoon is @ZarahPattison with her mega-innovative work on the detection of faecal pollution in small #lakes as part of @HydroscapeNERC. 800 sediment cores collected... Wow... Nice work Zarah!!! #epcnponds21
- Our researchers are sharing our freshwater connectivity results at the @europeanponds conference. Spoiler alert; connectivity can be a double-edged sword! Here we go!!! The brilliant @NWillby from the @HydroscapeNERC project hits the #epcn2021 stage with a *Plenary Talk* on the importance of #connectivity @AlanLaw_ @NERCscience
