Deeply saddened to wake in Europe this morning to news that Jacinda Ardern is stepping down as NZ PM. Jacinda has done an amazing job leading NZ & always brought humanity, empathy, & intelligence to the job. Much to be said, but for now - just thank you.

New Zealand sometimes is thought of as a small country, so it's interesting to see juxtaposed on a map of Europe. This shows its length from the north of the North Island to Stewart Is comparable to the disatnce from north of Copenhagen to southern France & maybe a bit below!

Deeply shocked to see the bullying & attempted intimidation of President Zelenskyy in Oval Office today. President Zelenskyy’s people are suffering hugely as they defend their freedom. They & their leader deserve support not abuse. Europe must now step up:

70 years ago today, 26 February 1950, I was born in Hamilton NZ. The 70 years have gone quickly. Life continues to be very full. I’m grateful 2 have good health, a wonderful family, many friends, and support networks at home and around the world. Special thanks 2 @PeterByardDavis

No electoral result reported at 98% is credible. In this case in #Tanzania, key opposition figures were detained, there was pre-election violence, & since the election 100s of people are reported to have been killed by security forces. These are desperate days for Tanzania 🇹🇿.

Tanzania’s electoral commission has declared Samia Suluhu Hassan the winner of the presidential election, with nearly 98 percent of the vote. Hundreds of people are feared dead following consecutive days of unrest. The ruling CCM party has been in power for over six decades.
