Interesting detail...
...because we're a warship, we're not on the registry of shipping and don't have a port of registry. So "LONDON" had to go. Each letter is a foot high and made of steel welded to the ship, on both sides.

- Today we had the privilege to be joined by HRH Prince Edward, The Duke of Edinburgh, for our service of dedication. The ceremony, attended by representatives from @stirlingcastle and the wider MOD, saw us formally welcomed into RFA Service ⚓️ 📸 PO(PHOT) Barry Wheeler
- We don't have rudders and propellers - we have azimuth thrusters. Practice makes perfect, and @LiverpoolPilots gave us expert advice and use of their simulator. Priceless preparation!
- Gangway screens, ceremonial lifebuoy covers - starting to feel like home. But what a lot of work left to do!
- We went quiet for a day. X thought we might be a bot. How ridiculous. We're a ship
- The first ship's company of RFA Stirling Castle handover this week following a busy 3 months of generation. Everyone here has worked fantastically well to make this ship our home and ready to support future tasking. @RFAHeadquarters @RoyalNavy
- Brilliant to make our first entry into @HMNBClyde & the wider Clyde area as we shift our attention towards maintenance and integrating with @RN_MTXG ⚓️
- Plain grey and Batch 2 OPV-style camo seem to be getting a lot of love. What do YOU think?
- It's official, we are on Twitter!! This is the genuine account of RFA Stirling Castle issued by NCHQ and run by the RFA team on board. Please follow us for updates as we progress from generation through sea trials and into service. @RFAHeadquarters @RoyalNavy @CaptAliClack
- "Honey, I shrank the ship" Made by a member of the ship's company. Now we can play with toy ships. The Navigator calls it "table top tactics", but if so, why does he make "brmm, brmm" noises when he moves them?
- What a moment! We have arrived in Portsmouth — our home port — for the very first time under the White Ensign. We are happy to join the rest of the fleet in our new home.
- We successfully conducted a basin trial today alongside Birkenhead - the propulsion is all working nicely! 😀 Bring on the trials - can't wait to get to sea⚓️
