Folks come together when times are tough. I was happy to see @chefjoseandres and @WCKitchen continuing to feed federal employees and their families affected by the shutdown until every paycheck comes in. I’m grateful to everyone who made this happen. #chefsforfeds

- Good morning, everyone! Today is the big day. In moments, I’ll be sworn in as a Commissioner of the @FCC. I can’t tell you how excited I am to get started!
00:00 - The people have demanded #NetNeutrality. I am pleased that Congress has responded. The @FCC must be empowered to make sure consumers have the free and open access to the internet that they need, deserve, and expect. Today’s legislation will get us back on track. #SaveTheNetHouse & Senate Democrats are coming together to send a clear message: we need to #SaveTheNet! x.com/i/broadcasts/1…
- .@nytopinion published my first op-ed today. I argue it is downright dangerous for our wireless carriers to sell our location data to facilitate pay-to-track schemes. And I point out that the FCC’s time to hold wrongdoers accountable may be running out.
- Couldn't agree more. More and more schools and businesses are announcing closures this afternoon, and the telecom sector needs to respond. Broadband will play an essential role in seeing us through this pandemic.#COVID19 is already creating an unprecedented need for teleworking, telehealth, and online education technology. ISPs should suspend data caps and overage fees that present a barrier to the telepresence services we’ll need to rely on during the #coronavirus outbreak.
- As not only a Commissioner of the FCC, but as a Black father of two young children who deeply cares about my country and my community, I know that our policymakers must do more to include Black people & other communities of color and create a better world for future generations.
- I’m excited to announce that @AlisaValentin joined #TeamStarks today as Special Advisor. Alisa has a strong policy background on #DigitalDivide issues and I’m looking forward to working with her to address the growing problem of #InternetInequality. Welcome Alisa!
- My deepest thanks to the Senate for my confirmation tonight. I look forward to continuing to serve the American people on the @FCC.NEWS: Tonight, the Senate confirmed Geoffrey Starks to another term at the FCC. He has prioritized getting Wi-Fi into affordable housing and getting Huawei out of our networks.
- I strongly believe that the @FCC made the right call in 2015 when it established strong #NetNeutrality protections for consumers. Unfettered access to the #OpenInternet provides a gateway to opportunity for all. Check out my statement on today’s oral argument below.
- Congratulations to my friend and colleague @JRosenworcel on her designation as acting Chairwoman of the Federal Communications Commission. For many years, Jessica has been a passionate advocate for bringing the benefits of broadband to all Americans—particularly our children.
- “In a pandemic-plagued country, high-speed internet connections are a civil rights issue.” I could not agree more. nytimes.com/2020/07/18/opi…
- I’m proud to announce the @FCC’s Early Career Staff Diversity Initiative which will increase our outreach to HBCUS & MSIs for our internship, attorney honors & engineering honors programs. The Commission must do it's part to advance diversity & equity.
- At today’s Senate oversight hearing, I discussed the intersection of broadband & civil rights. Internet inequality continues to have a profound impact on Black communities & other communities of color. We must address broadband access swiftly & equitably so all can benefit.
