Dear Parents, if you are in the presence of a Police Officer and your child is misbehaving, please don’t tell them that we will take them to jail if they don’t behave. They may need us in the future and may run from us because they are afraid of getting in trouble.
Tonight, to express our appreciation and solidarity to our health care workers, members of GPD, High Springs PD, UF PD, and FWC drove by UF Health Shands and gave a salute. We are grateful for their tireless commitment to the well being of those who are sick and injured.
GPD officers are currently working an incident at Wal-Mart (2900 SW 42nd Street) where the suspect stole a large excavator, drove it around the southwest (taking out power poles), and then drove through the wall of the Walmart. The suspect is custody.
