As historian of fascism & Holocaust, I would also call these centers concentrations camps. As a Jewish person who lost family in Holocaust, I regret that some Republicans use memory of the Holocaust to defend racist policies of trumpism. @AOC is right.

Historian of fascism here. Trump presents his enemies as "radical left fascists" but fascism is ALWAYS a radical right ideology & practice..Fascist lies are about the projection onto others of what the fascists do. Trump is today as close to fascist mindset as ever...

In Argentina extreme right-wing populist Javier Milei is often presented by the press as "liberal" or "libertarian". I think populist wannabe fascist would be more precise. Milei is mini-Argentine Trump but also has elements of Bolsonaro + Pinochet + Woody Woodpecker...

This is not the time for unicausal explanations or blame assignment. Trump won because of many reasons including propaganda, demonization, racism, militarization of politics & lack of justice regarding his coup attempt. Legality is central to democracy & it was blatantly ignored
