Dade County’s first driver’s license office was originally operated by FHP to run the state’s new driver’s license examination program. By 1941, everyone applying for an original driver license was required to pass a vision, road sign, road rules and driving test. @America250FL

This week, 2 FHP troopers were severely injured due to a reckless driver on the Florida Turnpike in Miami-Dade. Florida’s Move Over law is in place to protect all motorists and those on the side of the road dealing with an emergency. Visit FLHSMV.gov/MoveOver to learn more.

This morning, we announced that 58 more child predators are behind bars. If you come to Florida and prey on our kids, don’t be surprised to end up in Sheriff Woods' jail. With nearly 1,700 predators arrested since I took office, we are just getting started.

🪧Sign of the Times Florida’s first speed-limit sign on a highway was erected to promote safer driving habits. FHP was instrumental in managing traffic and enforcing the new limits. This led to the standardization of road signs, and radar technology a year later. @America250FL

COMMITTING FELONIES 🤝 LEGAL STATUS REVOKED This Panama national turned criminal illegal alien lost his legal status and received a final removal order in 2017 after a felony conviction. Thanks to CAAT Troopers and federal partners, he won’t call Florida a sanctuary anymore.
