    I don’t know specifics of this model, but in the past when companies claim models are said to be trained on Huawei - they don’t clarify that this means post-trained. Clever marketing.

    I keep seeing claims that Zai’s GLM-5.2 model was trained on Huawei chips. There’s no evidence for this. If it were true, it would be huge news. It would mean China had mostly “solved” the problem of U.S. export controls on AI chips. But if it were true, we would’ve heard about

    Truly wild how many people in Beijing, even living in the same neighbourhood, have no idea a plane crashed into the city’s tallest building on Friday. The censorship is incredibly effective.

    Hours after the incident, at the Beijing flying school where the plane took off, I witnessed the police supervising the search of a vehicle registered to Liu Junhua - the same name as a managerial employee at a subsidiary of China Citic Bank.
