Hendon Hooker had 27 TD and 2 INT, and led the country in QBR (ahead of all four of these guys). He had a historic season against a brutal schedule and he missed ONE game. One! And it costs him a trip to New York. What a joke.

How’s this for a stat. In 14 years from 2008-21, Tennessee had a TOTAL of 10 AP top-25 wins. In less than 2 months in 2022, Tennessee already has 5 AP top-25 wins. We faithful have been dreaming of this season for a very long time.

Can I be sentimental for a sec? June 4, 2008 was the worst day of my life, the day my dad died suddenly after we thought he’d beaten cancer. He played baseball at Tennessee and no one loved the Vols more. No one loved baseball more. So 13 years to the day, this happens ⬇️ (1/2)

I’m biased, but this is why @ReceDavis is one of the absolute best. He’s loved the sport his whole life, does an incredible amount of research, and knows the traditions & history that CFB fans love to hear in moments like this. “5 4 3 2 1 GIVE … HIM … SIX” was just perfect.

I’d like you to know about Pat. Like all our friends at the ESPN cafeteria, she was family. Someone I’ve talked to hundreds of times in the past 12 years. She worked two jobs. She battled cancer. And yet always had a smile and a warm thing to say. R.I.P., Pat. We will miss you.
