    Dropped off our daughter at med school 3 wks ago, then our baby at NYU on Tuesday! Proud of the people they have become - they are who they are BECAUSE (not despite) I chose to be a mother who is also a surgeon/scientist/mentor! @WomenSurgeons @PittSurgery @VascularSVS

    Gut wrenching when a patient puts their trust and life in your hands to get them through a difficult operation but doesn’t make it despite everything. Followed his wishes, made sure he was at peace🕊. 💔 just like when I started eons ago. Never gets easier, it never should.

    Definite progress in the right direction. We have come a long way from when I had my daughter as a PGY4 in 1997, the first resident to do so @PittSurgery No family leave policy then. Now having babies in our program is a happy event!
