- Thinking about Marx's attempt to disprove the concept of derivatives.
- My father-in-law is an economist. He is insanely learned. I was reading Human Action years ago and I asked him what it would take to write a similar book today. I will never forget his answer… "We can’t, we don’t know how to do it."
- Seems like he confused something approaching zero in the limit and being equal to zero.
- Replying to @AncapProudEngels too. They really thought they were on to something. Letter from Engels to Marx, commenting on his mathematical papers:
- Replying to @dandolfaAs far as I can tell, Hirofumi Uzawa was being completely serious when he said this and used to seriously believe it until he corresponded with Kenneth Arrow.
- When you’re trying to remember whether it was “high” or “low” time preference
- Reminder that Carl Menger, who founded the Austrian School of Economics, had a socialist brother named Anton Menger
- Replying to @jappazollaIt is real. The quote I posted is from Hirofumi Uzawa, a mathematical economist who was a Marxist at one point.
