- After a solid week of Australian schooling for my kids, I can say that my second favourite thing about schools here is school uniforms. It's amazing to not have to worry about outfits. Of course, that's a distant second to the fact that they won't die in a shooting.
- Today in: completely normal practice of medicine in the US. I wonder why I moved?
- At the end of #covid19, can we all come together and decide on the right way to pull wipes from the purple jar? I can't be pulling the lid off 40 times a shift for the next 15 years. It has a hole in the middle for a reason people.
- I see the NHS is trying to increase the number of doctors in Australia today
- I have officially given the last dose of haldol available in the hospital. Pray for me
- A thing happened tonight. In light of physicians falling ill, and without devices available to protect the beard, I decided to make a temporary change. Spread knowledge, not Coronavirus.
- Me: order 1g Tylenol Nursing: we only have 325s Me: give 975 Me 3 days later, same site: order 975mg Tylenol (I can learn) Nursing: we only have 500s Me: bangs head on desk until SDH forms
- I'm really afraid. A psych hospital just called my ER to let me know that they had empty beds and wanted to know if we had anybody they could have referred. What on earth.
- Things I did not expect to happen today: Getting called a Nazi for enrolling my children in the Moderna trial. By another physician. In the biggest emergency doc group on facebook.
- Replying to @EBMgoneWILDFor the record this is Center Hill Lake in Tennessee and that sign is in the parking lot of the marina where you cannot swim due to risk of boat strike or electrocution. Also, children <12 are required to wear life jackets on any moving boat in TN uscgboating.org/regulations/st…
- I don't know who needs to hear it, but Botox for cosmetic purposes? Not FDA approved. It's off label. Just saying.
- The 1st step was deciding to leave US medicine before it killed me. The 2nd was giving a 90 day work notice. The 3rd was taking work emails off my phone. I'm finally no longer just going through the motions of day to day life. It's weird what perspective a pandemic gives
- Today I was reminded of the gaslighting that US health care workers had to deal with when we first had the hospitals threaten to fire us for wearing masks in the hallways because it scared patients, & then they threatened to fire us for not wearing them in photos on SoMe.
