Yesterday, an adult male attempted to lure a Downey High School Student into his car. The male attempted to grab the student, but she was able to escape. Suspect is described as a male, 18-20 years of age, with dark hair and a beard. The vehicle is described a Black Kia.

- Downey morns the loss of Officer Ricardo Galvez, who was tragically shot & killed around 11 p.m. Wednesday evening.
- This afternoon, an officer conducted a traffic stop. Upon contacting the driver, he saw narcotics in the vehicle. Upon further investigation, 37 pounds of meth and a kilo of black tar heroin were located.
- Rex is at it again! He and Corporal Rodriguez seized 17 pounds of methamphetamine during a traffic stop today! Great job Rex!
- Peaceful Protest in Downey Thank you to all of the protesters, organizers, community & Downey Police Officers who all helped keep todayโs protest peaceful.
- The protest has become a march, and is currently heading northbound on Woodruff Ave from Firestone Blvd. The protest continues to be peaceful and the Downey Police Department is currently monitoring the situation.
- The March concluded to the front of Civic Center, and is dispersing peacefully. A small group remains and the Downey Police Department will continue to monitor their activity to ensure the safety of everyone.

- Todayโs Travis Scott appearance at McDonaldโs was neither approved nor permitted by the City of Downey. DPD units were dispatched in response to a large crowd gathered and focused on traffic and pedestrian safety concerns until the crowd dispersed. No injuries were reported.
