Not only could the dog jump off an injure themselves, the dog DID get very worried and upset to see their owner fly over the edge. Why do that to your dog, even if they were on leash?

In Australia, the Labrador retriever is used as a working dog both for border security sniffer dogs and as seeing eye dogs for the blind. However, you won't see any chocolate Labradors like this handsome boy working alongside the yellow or black Labradors. Do you know why? 👇

This dog is likely to have significant welfare issues with just trying to survive, such as breathing difficulties and skin disease. I agree, better not to encourage owning dogs for looks over welfare! 😔

I love seeing communication like this between an owner and their dog. Nobody else would know that this is what the dog wanted ☺️ when I see this kind of thing I know the dog is happy.

I analyse dog behaviour videos to look for problems with welfare. Politics aside, I can say this dog looks perfectly happy to me and is being handled fine. It's not a training competition.

Great examples of play body language here. The dog is keeping their distance and signalling with play bows and exaggerated movements, with regular pauses for dramatic effect!

I remember suggesting she be tested for thyroid disease, right after Nial found her. I'm so glad he saw the tweet and got her tested. I don't think she would have made it without the medications! Well done Nial and Cindy , you make a great team 🙏

I wonder if the vet did a blood test to look for hypothyroidism or Cushing's disease. Both can cause weight gain and skin disease in a dog.

The answer is that the coat colour in Labradors is genetically tied to their behavior! Chocolate Labs tend to be more impulsive and difficult to train than their yellow and black siblings. For this reason, they bred this coat colour out of the working dog programs!

As a vet I disagree, it's a personal choice. They can be heavily sedated with the owner present, to the point where they are almost unconscious. Then taken away so the owner doesn't have to watch. For my dogs, I choose to even do the act myself.

I can tell you now that anyone who makes videos where they shout at a dog for likes on social media is not a good person and you cannot trust what they do with their dog behind closed doors. If the dog is a good actor, it is because fear was used to train him.

Bunnies like to eat grass and other plants, burrow, hang out with other bunnies, and make other bunnies. They don't aspire to be anything more than this or do anything different.

Given what he's been through, his recovery so far is actually amazing. The fact he has forgiven us as a race of humans, for what one of us did to him, is another example of why we don't deserve dogs.
