The ongoing suffering in #Gaza is beyond horrific. Babies being bombed or freezing to death; doctors being abducted and/or killed; precision drones targeting older people. There have been some welcome changes from the new Labour Government including the sanctioning of settlers,

ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE: A @WFP convoy, clearly marked & carrying 8 team members, was shot at by Israeli forces near Wadi Gaza despite prior clearances. Humanitarians are #NotATarget! We MUST have safe, secure access to continue delivering life-saving aid.

Millions more appointments. Greater choice and convenience for patients. NHS staff once again able to give the standard of care they desperately want to. Our elective reform plan will end the backlogs and make our NHS fit for the future.

Today I asked the Secretary of State @DHSCgovuk about the new agreement with the private healthcare sector delivering care in surgical hubs. Specifically I asked what arrangements had been made if/when these patients need emergency care. #HealthforAll

Despite all of the challenges - legal and meteorological - we did it! After 40 years of damaging deregulation, Greater Manchester has this morning successfully retaken control of the whole of its bus network. 🙌🏻

There are no functioning hospitals in North Gaza. This is unacceptable. Israel is responsible for ensuring civilians have access to medical care and must do much more to immediately address this crisis. Both sides must finally end this war.
