- No full-time job should pay so little that the person doing it can't afford housing, food, clothes, heating and a little fun in life. It really is that simple.
- Boris Johnson wouldn't need to borrow £800,000 if he cooked from scratch and cancelled Netflix
- Tory peer Michelle Mone bought PPE from China for £46m and sold it to the NHS for £122m. There's no justification for that and she should give the money back.
- Prince Andrew has just given millions of pounds to someone he insists he has never met. What remarkable generosity.
- The media are calling today's strikers 'greedy'. But I've never met a teacher with £27m parked in an offshore trust in Gibraltar.
- Britain has the most expensive energy in Europe, the most expensive train fares in Europe, the most overcrowded prisons in Europe and the dirtiest rivers and beaches in Europe. Such are the successes of privatisation.
- Food banks closed to mark the death of a monarch. That somehow symbolises Britain perfectly.
- Last night, 315 MPs voted to sack strikers. At the next general election, vote to sack them.
- People on £80,000 a year should not be telling people on £8,000 a year they don't know how to budget. Tell me I'm wrong.
- Liz Truss - awarded a six-figure prime ministerial pension at the age of 46 for just 49 days' work - wants to raise the pension age to 80. For other people, that is.
- A man worth £760m telling nurses forced to use food banks they need take a pay cut in the national interest. Almost beyond belief.
- As London mayor, Johnson didn't cut his holiday short when rioting erupted in 2011. As prime minister, Johnson didn't cut his holiday short when the Taliban retook Kabul in 2021. But a sniff of a chance of replacing Truss, and he's on the first jet back from the Caribbean.
