    “I have never heard about a larger failure regarding any humanitarian aid project.” Debate with UNRWA in the Foreign Affairs Committee, where I asked several questions but got no answers. My conclusion: we simply cannot give this organisation any more chances. My speech ⬇️

    One of next week’s urgency resolutions must be about Gui Minhai, Swedish citizen wrongfully imprisoned in #China. I truly hope that the other parties in the European Parliament join me and the @EPPGroup in calling for his immediate release! #EUpol

    Swedish Gui Minhai sentenced to 10 years in prison for "providing intelligence" overseas. Sweden had no access to the trial nor possibility to provide consular support. As China claims to respect rule of law and human rights, he must be released immediately and unconditionally.
