    COVID-19 cases at DMPS had been steadily increasing this school year until mid-September, when we were allowed to require face masks. Last week saw our lowest number of cases so far in 2021-22. #MasksWork

    The School Board unanimously approved naming the @Dsmeast High School auditorium in honor of Ruth Ann Gaines ... a former drama teacher at East and a long-time public servant as a member of the Iowa House of Representatives.

    Our hearts go out to the family and friends of @Dsmeast High freshman Ema Cardenas, who died yesterday afternoon in a hit-and-run accident in the 1600 block of East University Ave. Ema has been with us since kindergarten and will be deeply missed by her friends and teachers.
