I'm pretty tired of hearing how we scientists are supposed to be so productive now. Anyone with kids, elderly parents, lab members to worry about, stranded masters students, etc is too stressed and busy to be thinking big thoughts.

After 20 years of no lab work I can still run ugly western blots! Started working in lab again and amazed at how well organized our lab is. All due to our our secret weapon Edie Valeri and her team. Thank you for a wonderful 14 years Edie!!

Based on the many responses, clearly many of us are feeling the same! I will add that I told my lab not to worry about being productive. We will all do what we can, but the situation is out of our control and so prioritize loved ones and science will happen when it happens.

Incredibly honored and humbled to receive the 2020 Mechthild Esser Nemmers Prize in Medical Science @NUFeinbergMed. While I am the beneficiary, the true heroes are the lab members who figured out how mTOR works! Thank you Nemmers family and @NUFeinbergMed for recognizing us.

In 1960 my parents arrived in Idlewild, leaving behind their lives in Argentina. They rode a bus to Yale, following a plow truck because of a blizzard. That was the beginning of what has given @blsabatini and me a blessed life. Feliz 90 cumpleaños querido Papa! No recent pics :(

Very happy to see the release of the three mTOR-related iBio videos we filmed over the summer. Was a real pleasure to work with such a professional team led by Karen Dell. mTOR and the Regulation of Growth • iBiology ibiology.org/cell-biology/m…

Our lab's donation for local Cambridge hospitals via the Cambridge Local Emergency Planning Committee. Please other labs give what you can. Thank you for organizing to our awesome lab manager Edie!

Last night @blsabatini and I saw our parents in vivo after a very long time. While it was wonderful, hard to forget how many of our lab members cannot see loved ones because of travel bans and vaccine situation abroad. The worst is over for some of us but not for many others.
