My buddy was a B-2 pilot. He flew one of these extremely long missions several years ago. The mission was 2 pilots, 36.3 hours of flight time (Missouri to Iraq and back to Missouri). The mission required 5 air refuelings, taking on over 500K of gas total. These pilots are

@toroschmitz16 ・・・ It’s hard to beat cloud surfing. Also, one of the best things about flying a jet that has more thrust than weight, you can climb *pretty much* any cloud . I was cleaning out some old hard drives from my demo days and found this.

Here are some INCREDIBLE images of a high speed bird strike that penetrated the canopy. The pilot was able to safely recover the aircraft and only sustained minor injuries. Thank you for sharing IG: @ air_spotter7200

It’s a terrible system. My father was a mechanic and always told me the most damage you do to your engine is during startup. The oil has all drained to the bottom and the oil pump takes a second to build pressure and start the lubrication process, not to mention the wear and tear
