Many of the 60's counter culture boomers seem to have retained the warped utopian idealisms they were indoctrinated into while in their experimental college years. When the harsh realities of life are slapping their faces, they still cling stubbornly to those straw philosophies.

Ball lightning. I saw it once when I was a kid. During a very severe storm, a ball of electricity came out of a wall socket and floated across the floor and finally dissipated after crossing the room. Really weird stuff!
