My Youtube account is officially TERMINATED a.k.a banned. Thanks @YouTube for banning me because I requested a takedown of someone else impersonating me, an account with barely any views and 21 subscribers that re-uploaded my full shorts, using my previous handle and pfp.
Anyone know anything about Youtube copyright stuff? I reported someone stealing my content and reuploading it on their own channel made to IMPERSONATE ME and YouTube's response to me is "we might TERMINATE YOUR ACCOUNT" because they think it's a false claim?? I'm losing sanity.
I'll write an update below but first I'd like to thank everyone commenting, retweeting, liking, bookmarking, and otherwise engaging with this post. Thank you for making noise, hopefully maybe they'll take it a little more seriously now instead of sending me another automated
I replied because the link you’ve sent me doesn’t give me the option to choose my terminated account and asking me to choose the account I’m having issues with but I am not seeing the account on the list at all

They've officially banned my other account I had 1.7K subscribers on that I was using for my hobbies(FFXIVhousing) and planned on using for my VODs from live streams... Somehow that got processed MUCH faster than my help request, I've still not been contacted. Will update

They JUST confirmed that my takedown request went through. Clearly my request was NOT fraudulent 🙃 It took a dozen emails, a support ticket, multiple tweets to get NO help, until I made a tweet that (thankfully) people liked and reposted and commented on so much that

Well this is ironic because I also just realized I was sent the exact same dm that sends me to the same page completely ignoring the fact that I explained how I am literally unable to choose the YouTube account that was in question. The page you’re sending me to asks me to choose
They’re still your parents is the single most toxic take I’ve heard. These people have grown up in homes with such a level of generational toxicity that they think it’s the most natural thing to still love your abuser. Don’t listen to the advice of people that have the emotional
Dont know you or the person mentioned but the story itself is so easy to recognize and sadly hits home. I'm glad you're in a better place with life now. No one is worth being unhappy for. If they make you unhappy, they're not the one and shouldn't be in your life.
Because it’s not just a small account, but an account that had my name on it, my previous handle. I do a lot of collabs, majority of my content is playing games with my friends who are other creators, and when people accidentally tag the wrong account, which is how I found out
