The time is now. With new proposed investments in direct student supports (social workers, counselors, culturally-specific partnerships & more), I am discontinuing the regular presence of School Resource Officers @PPSConnect. We need to re-examine our relationship with the PPB.

We've reduced a potentially devastating $57M in budget cuts to $12M w/ proactive cost-saving measures & labor collaboration. We continue to examine all avail resources & propose additional adjustments to maintain valued programming, including all elementary gen ed P.E. teachers.

Dear @PPSConnect students, staff, & families: Portland Public Schools will be implementing an Extended Spring Break effective this coming Monday, March 16 thru Tues, March 31, w/ a planned return for students on Wed April 1 (and staff on Mon Mar 30).
