.@JustinTosi & I have written a new book we're very excited about. You don't have to save the world to be a good person. A peaceful life of putting down roots, creating a good home, and solitude can be generous and noble. @routledgebooks Preorder: a.co/d/5bTNqaw

“Regardless of party or ideology, men are so much more tolerant than women that the gender tolerance gap dominates the ideology difference.”

Academics will demand that this app be shut down for causing harm and misinformation then turn around and publish as “research” the most unhinged ideological garbage, force feed it to students as if it were gospel, and then complain when taxpayers don’t want to subsidize it.

One symptom of what’s wrong with American higher education is how bad *people with PhDs* are at thinking and talking about the political Right. They might have a PhD, but they haven’t learned much about the political ideas they don’t like. Three thoughts:

The Summer of Love was so insane that if you hadn't lived it, you wouldn't believe it. I saw tenured philosophers defending these protests simply bc they loved the politics. After they had just spent months demanding that no one leave their homes. With zero cognitive dissonance.

One of the best pieces of career advice I got was from this book when I was in grad school: write 500 words a day, five days a week. An attainable daily goal that compounds quickly: 10k words/month. Keep track of your progress, reward yourself each week. Positive feedback loop.

Epistemologist wonders why Harris lost and suggests one big reason is that Republicans rely on "misinformation." It cannot be understated how many PhDs cannot fathom the possibility that people disagree with them because they actually understand and reject their ideas.

Mike Huemer has written a new book titled Progressive Myths. The table of contents alone is going to break a lot of brains.

"A university is not a machine for achieving a particular purpose or producing a particular result; it is a manner of human activity... we may call it 'the pursuit of learning'."

Why students would feel the need to fake progressive views for their professors is a very important question, and one that progressive professors should be asking of themselves.

Faking wokeness to fit in: A new study finds that nearly nine in ten students fake more progressive views than they really hold, often to appease professors or stay in their peers’ good graces. [Link below.]

You could post a clip every day of an academic saying something like this—that they don’t care about scholarship and that universities are mere tools for laundering leftwing politics—and you’d never run out of examples. Hard to convince non academics how common this attitude is.

Eman Abdelhadi: “F*** the University of Chicago... but it’s my best shot at power.” At Socialism 2025, @UChicago professor Eman Abdelhadi called her employer “evil colonial landlord." Use it. Organize it. Seize its structural leverage. “We don’t have power... but I work at one

A wrecking ball to the academics who, by cowardice and complicity, destroyed universities all on their own. “Unless and until academics identify a specific, realistic mechanism for their own regulation, any complaints about externally imposed reforms have little credibility.”

One final point: “Democrats’ understanding of Republicans actually gets worse with every additional degree they earn.” Democrats *without* high school diplomas do much better than PhDs. The current education system simply isn’t helping.
