EP promised passengers that their rights would not move backwards and we didn't give up. Today’s COREPER decision confirms it. The 3-hour threshold is preserved. Compensation is preserved. New rights are added, beyond the status quo. A final vote remains in EP on Monday. ✈️

Today's attack on a crude oil tanker in the Black Sea is yet another reason why Eastern border and Black Sea Member States must receive additional allocation. Thank you @RaffaeleFitto for the talks! The EPP Group is determined to secure NATO's Eastern flank. Defence is regional.

The @EUauditors delivered their opinion on the NRPPs. Our position remains clear: Commissions come & go. Parliaments come & go. Presidents & governments come & go. But regional challenges persist — and so must a strong EU cohesion policy.

Eastern border regions = NATO's Eastern Flank. As of 2028, regional policy will have a security and defence layer. National and Regional Partnership Plans will be strategic - from Finland to Bulgaia and the Black Sea Region. This will be among my priorities.

We have made it clear from the beginning that we will not back down on key passenger protections. Weakening the rules would be a step in the wrong direction. This is a testament to the @EPPGroup's effective leadership on consumer protection issues. @AndreyNovakov

More money should be invested if fires and floods devastate our regions, if war is raging along NATO’s Eastern Flank and the Black Sea Region, if people need infrastructure and services. EU is cherished and remembered when it is there. #MFF #ReginalPolicy #Cohesion
