- Replying to @ghostpnctuationInteresting! I borrowed a copy of the book from my professor who was super reluctant to lend me the book because it was a really old copy. Later I bought two copies online, one for myself another for the library. He was thrilled to see this.
- Dear authors who have published with international presses, would you be dissapointed if I tell you I have actually downloaded a free pdf copy of your books and got them printed in a local print shop for personal use? Guilty, but sorry, cannot afford them even with 50% discount.
- Will I ever be able to fly to conferences at beautiful international locations again to present my 8 minutes substandard papers? Only time will tell.π¬
- If we stop centering the US in academic research for a moment, my ethnography in small towns of Odisha shows that intimate male friendship is only thriving and nothing is killing it. If you commision me I may write a piece on it. π
- I just submitted this huge fellowship application and cannot stop thinking of how kindness in academia really goes a long way. I could not even think of applying for this one a few months ago, but then a very kind academic I barely knew generously offered all the help.

- I wrote my thesis through the pandemic. I am so relieved that j submitted and graduated. It's so exhausting and I am not sure if I can do this now. So sending love,hugs and solidarity to anyone who is writing now.
- So a friend of mine who has a PhD in Literary studies texted me today that she got published in a Scopus indexed and UGC enlisted journal. It literally took me five minutes to find out that it was a predatory journal. I didn't have the heart to tell her but has to break the news.
- Replying to @professor_daveSo sorry. Diversity and inclusion are buzz words in many spaces including academia. Also rightly siad by you these activities are looked as merely checking the boxes. Academia needs to do better.
