firefly lust
(subject line from today's QOTD)

Today marks a year since our relaunch, from Old Phase 1 X-Project to New Phase 2 X-Project. It’s been an interesting year, with everyone dealing, both IC and OOC, with the loss of one world and the creation of another. Not an easy task!

So thank you everyone who has stuck with us, for your hard work, your patience, and your faith in this crazy-ass game of ours.

Especial personal thanks to Dex, who took on the hugely impossible task of running the end of the world plot and getting it done in time to take advantage of the whole "end of the year" thing, and to Sam, who helped me with the metric fuckload of wiki edits at the time and since. But also personal thanks to all of the players who have worked to make things keep running, and keep running smoothly. The relaunch was a gamble, one which could have seen the end of us, and with everyone's efforts, we've succeeded.

5th-May-2012 11:48 am - XP - 9 years and counting
road
So today is officially XP's birthday, with the game beginning on May 5, 2003. That's a hell of a long time for an online RPG. And the reason we're still around is because of the players, whose enthusiasm and creativity and love of the game have created a community.

So, well done all of you, past and present, and well done the readers, whose feedback and encouragement never fail to make us squee. The fact we have readers is still kind of awesome.

Happy Birthday, X-Project. You rock.
3rd-Sep-2011 01:54 pm - Love Thread!
We seem to be on approximately an every two year rotation with this one so Cozza figured it was time for a new one and emailed me to help. Cozza-the-awesome was like-minded so she'll be getting the first half done in another post because, well, there's a lot of us. Part one is over here.

This is how it works for those of you new within the past two years or who have swiss cheese for memories. Below you will find a comment for each player, alphabetical by name, with links to their wiki player pages as well as links to the LJs of their characters with shiny little visuals. Reply to the comments with any and all positive feedback.

No negativity is welcome.

This thread is here to give everyone warm fuzzies.

Aaaand, go!

(Players and readers alike are welcome to leave love)

I have a batch of new, more 'grown up' icons for Yvette, thanks to Mack who pointed out the site with them, and to Bounce who coloured them for me.

Scroll down for the new ones.

Thanks so much, guys!

sanity, in jokes
Besides being an insanely fun plot to write, dexfarkin collaborated with the RL Johnny Devil and produced this ad for M-Squad. Now in handy listening format for everyone!

(If you'd like to given Johnny feedback, comment to this post and we'll send him the link!)
14th-Apr-2010 10:20 am - Revenant - delayed thank yous..
road
I had meant to post this last week, but Life got in the way.

The Queen is dead. Long live the Queen

Revenant was a plot that was a year in the half in the making. From the original seeds came an exciting, convoluted and unexpected plot, with all sorts of repercussions that will be played out for a while. And that would not have been possible without a number of people, who I want to acknowledge now:

dexfarkin and alasdair, who betaed the plot and helped me work out the glitches and extended it way past the original idea. Also to Dex for plotting sessions at the pub and for helping me come up with the shock element at the end.

calliopes_pen, who jumped at the chance of turning Meggan evil, x_adrienne who gleefully joined in, avariel_wings who played Kurt's worry to the hilt and shinyandnat who let me drag Amara into all this.

seraangel, who stepped up to the plate to help out when I lost a major character unexpectedly.

The X-Forcers and x_copycat, who played support on this one for me and who did a great job, finding ways to get involved.

The HFC players, who accepted a difficult scenario and ran with it.

And my sockers, who all did a brilliant job - frito_kal who gleefully wrote Heinrich Klar and made a person out of a one-shot character introduced way back in Lost in the Woods; erindubitably who did a brilliant job of socking Belladonna in spite of time zones and access constraints; tywyllwch who did a wonderful job with the doomed Selene; indiana_j who stepped up to the plate with Sebastian Shaw and had a fantastic back and forth with Emma that made me squee and finally dexfarkin, who socked Karl Mordo and Peter Alarune, and of course, our favourite poor hurt fowl, Candra.

Thank you, all of you. Plots are nothing without the people playing in them, and you all deserve kudos for the roles you played.
5th-Mar-2010 11:43 am - Just wanted to say!
smile
Been meaning to do this for the past few days but things have been busy, but without further delay I just wanted to say a huge thanks to Rossi and publicly praise her awesomeness for covering my turns with the weekly summary. Rossi's covered for me I think the last three times I've been up, because of all the stress and distress I've been dealing with lately, and I think her patience and kindness definitely needed to be acknowledged because I'm incredibly grateful. Thanks so much Rossi!
