Regicide, according to medieval European conventions, is to kill God\u27s anointed king, and so likewise to disrupt the natural and divine order. Macbeth\u27s illegal and immoral kingship brings death, destruction, and suffering to Scotland, whilst the good kingship of Duncan and Malcolm brings victory and happiness; the contrast is deliberate. This article analyzes the poetry of Russian poet Vladimir Mayakovski (1893-1930), renowned as a m... more This article analyzes the poetry of Russian poet Vladimir Mayakovski (1893-1930), renowned as a main figure of the Russian Futurist movement. The study first introduces the futurist movement in literature that took place at the beginning of the twentieth century and locates it within formalist theory. Then, it dwells upon the characteristics of futurist poetry since this was the genre the futurists were mostly concerned with. The study moves towards its main objective by examining two characteristic poems, Morning (1912) and A Skyscraper Dissected (1929), bearing in mind the theme of urbanism which is common in the futurist literary movement. This analysis attempts to prove that Mayakovski used the theme of urbanism to criticize modern city life, unlike other futurists who used this theme to glorify it. The study will also look at an important aspect of Mayakovski's poem About This in which he imagines life in the future. To carry out this thematic study, a critically analytical and descriptive method is used.

First, it surveys the different styles that the anti-war poets followed in their criticism of war in an attempt to figure out afterwards the characteristics that distinguish Read’s anti-war poetry from other poetry. It then presents the main features of Read’s anti-war poetry. The study moves on to examine its main objective that lies in analyzing Read’s poem “Kneeshaw Goes to War” (1918) as an example of his own anti-war poetry. This thematic study follows a descriptive and analytical method in carrying out its aim. It starts with an introduction about the different modes of war poetry and literature review, develops into a discussion of Read’s attitude towards the poem’s main subject and comes to an end with the main findings in the conclusion. The present study offers a critical analysis of post-colonial feminism in Tayeb Salih's Seaso... more The present study offers a critical analysis of post-colonial feminism in Tayeb Salih's Season of Migration to the North (1969) and Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart (1958). It analyzes the notion of double colonization as portrayed through marginalization and subordination of women in the novels. It shows the relationship between the colonizer and colonized and the purpose of colonization. In addition, it examines the status of the colonized women in relation to customs, traditions, and race where customs are obviously against women in their society and women characters appear as an inferior class and have no recognized status and view in that society. The method used can be described as descriptive and analytical relying mainly on the texts of the two novels and the critical literature produced on them that sheds more light on the problem in question.

The author of the first of these stories is an African-American novelist, short story writer, poet, and social activist. Alice Walker and the other story is written by an American short story writer, novelist and photographer, who wrote about the American South, Audra Welty. The specific reasons behind choosing these two short stories because they are written by women writers from different cultures, both deal with racial issues, but more importantly is that both include children characters that can add an attribution to be representations of the new African- American generation. The main point of this work is trying to put forward, critically and comparatively, is how the Hamlet- type was manipulated by two prominent dramatists, Shakespeare and Chekhov, to express their own feelings, intellectual questionings, and artistic concerns.
