Dark Web Scan
Perform a Dark Web Scan for compromised usernames and passwords that may exist on the dark web. The results will appear in your assessment reports, and you can then direct users to change their passwords or implement multi-factor authentication.
Here's how it works:
Step 1 — Enable Dark Web ID API Access
First, ensure that you have enabled API access in Dark Web ID. This is necessary to employ the integration with Network Detective.
Step 2 — Enable Dark Web ID Integration from Global Settings
-
Next, enable the Dark Web ID integration from Global Settings. Navigate to global Settings (Admin)
> Connections.
- From Your Connections, click Add.
- From Add Connection, select Dark Web ID from Connection Type.
- Enter your Dark Web ID credentials.
- Enter a Connection Name and click Save.
- The new Dark Web ID connection will appear under Your Connections.
Step 2 — Perform a LAN Scan
Next, perform a LAN Scan on the target network and upload the results into your assessment. When configuring the LAN Scan, you will be prompted to enter the domains for which to perform the Dark Web Scan. From External Domains, enable Perform Dark Web Scan for Compromised Passwords and enter the domains.
Complete this necessary step to identify the domains for the Dark Web Scan. See LAN Scan.
Step 3 — Perform Dark Web ID Scan
- From your site, navigate to Assessments > Dark Web Scan.
- From Run Dark Web Scan, click Scan. The Dark Web Scan will then begin.
- When the scan completes, you can see a summary of the scan results. Generate reports such as the Security Risk Report and Security Management Plan to view a complete breakdown of compromised credentials for each domain scanned. See also Generate Reports.
