Build Maps Visually with the Map Editor
WP Go Maps gives you a powerful visual editor right inside your WordPress admin. Add markers, configure your store locator, set up directions, and customise every detail of your map without writing a single line of code.
A Visual Editor for Your Maps
You don't need to touch any code to build a map with WP Go Maps. The entire editor lives inside your WordPress admin and lets you see your changes in real time. Add markers by searching for an address or simply clicking on the map, then drag them into the perfect position.
- No coding required to create and configure your maps
- Add markers by typing an address or clicking directly on the map
- Drag and drop markers to fine tune their placement
- Live map preview updates as you make changes
- Upload custom marker icons or choose from built in options
Everything in One Place
The map editor uses a tabbed interface so every feature is just a click away. Configure your store locator, set up directions, manage marker listings, and organise categories all from the same screen. No jumping between pages or hunting through menus.
- Tabbed layout: General, Markers, Shapes, Store Locator, Directions, Advanced
- Configure your store locator radius, keywords, and results right in the editor
- Set up directions between points without leaving the map screen
- Manage marker listings and choose your preferred listing style
- Organise markers into categories for easy filtering
Multiple Maps and Global Settings
Create as many maps as you need. Each one gets its own markers, settings, and shortcode. If you want consistency across your site, the global settings page lets you define site wide defaults for things like map engine, starting zoom level, and default marker icon.
- Create unlimited maps, each with their own configuration
- Map wizard walks you through creating your first map step by step
- Choose your map engine: Google Maps, OpenLayers, or Leaflet
- Global settings for site wide defaults like zoom, engine, and icons
- Each map generates its own shortcode for easy embedding
A Modern Admin Interface
The Atlas Novus UI gives the map editor a clean, modern look that feels right at home in WordPress. Browse map themes visually, pick marker icons from a gallery, and generate shortcodes with a single click. Everything is designed to save you time.

Nearly 3,000 Five-Star Reviews on WordPress.org
Half a million websites rely on WP Go Maps. Here's what store owners, developers, and agencies are saying.
I spent countless days testing the myriad of Google Maps plugins available for WordPress, and when I first tried WP Go Maps I immediately knew my search was over. I needed something powerful and customisable while still being super easy and intuitive for my client to use. After using the free version for a short while, I was so impressed I decided to buy the Pro version — it was worth every cent (and more).
I have been looking for a WordPress map that gives directions from markers. With the PRO version you can easily turn on directions and on phones enable automatic opening of Google Maps when the user clicks "Get Directions" — awesome. I love it.
I needed a good map plugin in a pinch. I found this one, set it up in minutes, upgraded to the Pro version and never looked back. That's all I could ever ask for in a plugin!
We use the map on a client website for their store locations... All round, a recommended solution for mapping and plotting location based data on your WordPress site.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the map editor in WP Go Maps.
How do I create a map?
Go to Maps in your WordPress admin and click Add New. The map wizard will walk you through choosing a map engine, setting a starting location, and picking a theme. Once you save, a shortcode is generated automatically.
How do I add markers to my map?
Open your map in the editor, go to the Markers tab, and type an address into the search field. You can also click directly on the map preview to place a marker. Drag it to reposition, then fill in a title and description and save.
Can I create more than one map?
Yes. You can create unlimited maps, each with its own markers, settings, and shortcode. Embed different maps on different pages or even place multiple maps on the same page.
How do I embed a map on my site?
Every map gets a shortcode displayed at the top of the editor. Copy that shortcode and paste it into any page, post, or widget area. You can also use the Gutenberg block or any page builder you prefer.
What is the map wizard?
The map wizard is a guided setup that appears when you create your first map. It helps you choose a map engine (Google Maps, OpenLayers, or Leaflet), set a default location, and pick a visual theme. You can change these settings later at any time.
Do I need to know how to code?
Not at all. The entire editor is visual and lives inside your WordPress admin. You can add markers, configure a store locator, set up directions, and customise the look of your map without writing a single line of code.
