Just days after settling a social media addiction lawsuit, Snap is giving parents tools to see how much time their kids are spending in Snapchat, including how that time breaks down between different parts of the app. They’ll also get new insights into how kids know any new friends they add.

Microsoft is switching its F1 allegiances from Alpine to Mercedes-AMG for the 2026 season. A new multi-year partnership will see Mercedes-AMG use Microsoft technologies for race team operations, and plaster the Microsoft logo in prominent positions on the 2026 Mercedes-AMG F1 car and on racing suits. There’s a big technical shake up for the 2026 season, with all-new chassis, power units, and fuel regulations.

Zipline’s airborne delivery service is making fans in Texas, with more locales coming soon.
Meta has bet big on AI everything, but also has Instagram boss Adam Mosseri out there warning creators about its impact. One commenter (and occasional Verge contributor!) sums up its position nicely:

9to5Google spotted reports across Reddit that Pixel phones’ Take a Message live voicemail transcription is leaking audio from the recipient’s microphone back to the caller. It doesn’t seem to be affecting every Pixel — 9to5Google couldn’t replicate the bug — and could be limited to older handsets. Google says it’s investigating.
Leaders of the village approved plans for the data centers on Wednesday, FOX6 News Milwaukee reports, and the Mount Pleasant Village Board could give final approval “as soon as Monday night.” The data centers would go on land formerly owned by Foxconn.

Beloved indie studio Simogo just released an old, internal trailer for its puzzle opus Lorelei and the Laser Eyes. The trailer looks quite a bit different than the final game, making it a fascinating, albeit brief, glimpse into the design process.
An update coming today also introduces an “auto” mode that switches between ChatGPT’s responses and Google Search results based on your query. OpenAI is also working on Windows support and a mobile version of the browser.

A federal judge barred government officials from reviewing Washington Post reporter Hannah Natanson’s devices that were seized by investigators last week. The ruling came after the Post asked for the return of Natanson’s devices and not to review their contents, alleging a grave First Amendment violation.

Ahead of debuting a trailer for its new Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord animated series tomorrow, Disney Plus has shared a short (and inky) teaser that makes it seem like the Sith Lord’s lightsaber is going to be seeing plenty of action.


Microsoft also said that “more than 85% of the Game Pass catalog is compatible with these PCs,” now, after a rocky journey for ARM gaming support on PC.
Other new Xbox app updates, like the new Game Save Sync Indicator and Handheld Compatibility Program labeling, also seem to be well-timed ahead of a possible Qualcomm PC gaming handheld launch in March.

A survey of 5,000 white collar workers suggests experiences differ greatly between CEOs and non-management employees. Forty percent of workers say it saves them no time each week to use AI and just two percent say it saves them more than 12 hours. Meanwhile, two percent of executives say they don’t save any time, and 19 percent say it saves them more than 12 hours a week.

The San Diego convention previously allowed AI images to be displayed under certain conditions, but has now banned any partially or wholly AI-generated materials entirely, following backlash from artists. The policy change has been welcomed, but without reliable AI-detection methods, enforcement may prove challenging.

Season 5 of Apple TV’s alternate reality sci-fi series starts streaming on March 27th. It picks up with Mars now home to “a thriving colony with thousands of residents and a base for new missions that will take us even further into the solar system.” You can get a taste of that in the extremely brief new teaser.
After soft-launching last year, the New York Times is launching its new two-player word game Crossplay. It’s essentially a new version of Words With Friends or Scrabble, and unlike most offerings from the Times, it’ll be available as a standalone app.

Marathon developer Bungie says it’s fixed a headscratching bug that saw some Steam preorders of the game accidentally trigger installation of Destiny 2 as well — currently a 170GB download. Marathon is finally launching on March 5th, after missing its initial September release.
