Documentation/Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce/Enable Inline Validation

Enable Inline Validation

Last updated on August 9, 2023

Instant Validator is a simple feature which can reduce friction on the checkout form by displaying a validation message as the user input a piece of information in the field. Ideally, it instructs the users through an inline message if the user enters invalid information.

This inline validation feature works on default WooCommerce checkout fields (Required fields) and custom fields created using the Checkout Field Editor plugin (Email, Phone, Number, & URL).  It works on both the Min. Length & Max. Length set on each field.

Basic Set up

  • Go to Dashboard → WooCommerce → Checkout Form → Advanced Settings page.
  • Scroll down to Other Settings and “Enable Inline validation in checkout page.”

How to use validation?

  • Now move to the “Checkout Fields” tab and select or add the fields that you want to validate.
  • In the “Basic Info,” find “validations” there you can select the validatiors (Email, Phone, Number, URL ) from the dropdown as required.

With Inline Validation:

  • Furthermore, the Inline Validation feature is also set on fields with both the Min. Length & Max. Length.
