As the quiet luxury trend continues to dominate the wedding space, more and more modern brides are looking for ways to elevate their hair style for their big day. For stylists, this has resulted in an influx of requests for looks that are elegant and timeless, but not over-the-top. It seems that now more than ever, brides are focussed on the longevity of their looks. That being said, we can expect the latest bridal hair trends to stand the test of time. Below, we're breaking down what's in store for bridal hair in 2025.

In this article:

1. The Sleek Bun
2. Hollywood Waves
3. The Party Ponytail
4. The Twisted Updo
5. Natural Curls
6. Half-Up, Half-Down
7. The Middle Part
8. The Tapered Fade

1. The Sleek Bun

"In no less than 24 hours after Sofia Richie's wedding, I styled my first 'Sofia Richie bun,'" says Cassi Ramona, owner and lead stylist at Reverie Beauty NYC. ICYMI: This sleek wedding hair style took the internet by storm following the celebrity's 2023 nuptials and has shown no signs of slowing down ever since. The reason for the resurgence of the sleek low bun is perhaps as simple as the style itself. "I personally see brides trending away from styles that require a lot of maintenance and moving towards more relaxed, effortless choices," Ramona reveals. "The slicked-back bun not only lifts and defines the face but also gives a polished, put-together look, whether you're walking down the aisle or running errands," says Los Angeles and New York City hairstylist, Waz Shaiwayana.

    2. Hollywood Waves

Loose beach waves may have held the spotlight for several years, but moving into 2025, we're seeing more and more brides opt for voluminous, structured waves (AKA: Hollywood waves). This modern hair style for weddings is achieved by creating uniform curls with a large-barrelled wand, which are then brushed out and sprayed with hairspray for a sleek finish. Given the rise of the quiet luxury trend, it's no surprise that this red carpet staple is currently making waves in the wedding world (pun intended). "Hollywood waves offer a more polished and refined look, making them ideal for formal weddings," says Shaiwayana. According to Los Angeles hairstylist Sharon Yadegaran, however, they're versatile enough for any type of event. Simply put, "they offer the drama and glamour that beach waves can sometimes lack," she adds.

      3. The Party Ponytail

Where timelessness meets practicality, you'll find the classic bridal ponytail (or what we like to call the "party pony"). "If you've ever been on a dance floor with your hair down you know just how irritating it can be to be weighed down by your hair," says Atlanta hairstylist, Madison Bohannan. Enter: The bridal ponytail. "This look is great for brides that want the comfort of having their hair out of their face while also maintaining hair length," says Bohannan. "Not only does this style work with almost any bridal look, but it will also last throughout the entirety of your big day," says Yadegaran. According to Peyton Lambert, Los Angeles hairstylist and flounder of the Peyton Lambert Collective, an unfussy style like a ponytail can be a great way for brides to highlight their natural beauty. All in all, "getting the hair out of the face allows for a worry free all-day style," she explains.

        4. The Twisted Updo

Speaking of timelessness, we can't talk about 2025 wedding hair trends without mentioning the twisted wedding updo. A classic choice for brides across centuries, this look certainly isn't going anywhere in 2025. There are countless variations of this style, meaning it can work with virtually any hair length and texture. "The best twisted up-do is the one that mirrors the style of your wedding," says Bohannan. "An 'undone,' loose, wavy twisted up-do would be great for someone that is aiming for the whimsical look while someone that is wanting something more classic should go for the French twist," she adds. "Twisted updos combine elegance with a bit of relaxed texture, making them perfect for a bridal look," says Shaiwayana.

          5. Natural Curls

If you've scrolled through social media in the past year, chances are you've heard of the "clean girl aesthetic." This viral trend celebrates the beauty of simplicity, whether that means opting for light makeup that highlights your features instead of hiding them, or dressing in simple, understated styles that aren't overly flashy. For many modern brides, mirroring the clean girl aesthetic means skipping the straightener and embracing their natural curls instead. "Most brides want to keep true to their everyday look but feel a bit more done up," says Los Angeles hairstylist, Sydney Stiff. Going natural is also a great way to avoid using a ton of product in your hair or spending your wedding night pulling out bobby pins and clips. If you do want to take it up a notch, try putting it in a very simple half-up, half-down. We're confident that it will look just as stunning as any other intricate 'do.

          6. Half-Up, Half-Down

If you're an indecisive bride who can't seem to choose a wedding hairstyle, a half-up, half-down look offers the perfect compromise. "This style is great because it gives you the best of both worlds," says Lambert. "Brides are able to customize their look with the amount of hair they pull up." she adds. According to Shaiwayana, "brides can also personalize their half-up, half-down style by adding braided details, loose waves or curls, textured volume or even a slicked-back half ponytail." Not only does a half-up, half-down look fit virtually any bridal vibe, it's also great for accessorizing (Psst: There are countless wedding hair accessories to choose from). "A half-up half-down style is the perfect way to support a veil, but depending on your style, you could even add a veil alternative, like flowers, a crown or decorative pins/embellished clips," says Bohannan.

          7. The Middle Part

If you didn't know, we are currently in the midst of the middle part renaissance. Spearheaded by members of Gen Z, we're seeing more and more brides say so long to the side part and opt for a more symmetrical look instead. The middle part pairs especially well with styles we mentioned earlier, like Hollywood waves and the slicked-back bun. It's also a great choice for brides who have face framing bangs, since it ensures the hair is evenly distributed on both sides. Middle parts may be dominating the hair world, but stylists warn brides not to get too caught up in following trends if they don't align with their personal style. "I think it's important for brides to recognize not only which hair parting is the most flattering on them, but also which is the most true to them," says Stiff. For some, a middle part just doesn't feel (or look) the most natural, and that's totally okay. Stick to your personal style and you're guaranteed to feel your very best on your big day.

          8. The Tapered Fade

You didn't think we'd forget about grooms now did you? Of course not. If we're talking men's hairdos, we can't go without mentioning the tapered fade. Not only is it one of the most popular men's wedding hairstyles at the moment, it's also one of the most popular styles in general. A tapered fade is achieved when the hair is buzzed shorter at the nape of the neck, and longer the closer it gets to the top of the head. The result is a clean look that appears to fade right into the skin. "Since the style is relatively low-maintenance, it's perfect for laidback grooms," says Bohannan. All you'll need to do to get wedding-ready is comb through the top part of the hair, and apply a pea-sized amount of pomade to keep flyaways in check.
