Sustainability Claims
According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, human actions have undeniably impacted the planet, resulting in the warming of the atmosphere, ocean, and land. Environmental sustainability is defined as the ability to maintain an ecological balance in our planet's natural environment and conserve natural resources to support the wellbeing of current and future generations. The three main pillars of sustainability that organizations strive to achieve are social sustainability, economic sustainability, and environmental sustainability, with social sustainability including workplace issues like health and safety, inclusion, empowerment, professional development opportunities, and work-life balance.
Note: While these are the brand's sustainability claims, third-party certifications can provide more reliable verification of sustainable practices. And always look for the following criteria for a sustainable brand: use of sustainable materials (organic, recycled), fair labor practices and worker safety, transparent supply chain, eco-friendly packaging, and commitment to reducing environmental impact through waste reduction and energy efficiency. Preferably mentioned with numbers and percentages.
