    Nice one ... short explanation very good ...how about partition in many data files not just primary!

    This is really good example.

    But i have a heavy loaded table on which i need to implement this.

    So from your example instead of 'create table' can anyone suggest me how implement this using 'Alter Table' sort of script on existing table...

    This tells me all I need to know: I don't understand so partitioning is not for me.:unsure:
