Since 2015, Seven Transistor Labs, LLC has been providing electronic design engineering services to customers in the United States and worldwide. Services include analog and power electronics design, PCB layout and electromagnetic compatibility. The name refers indirectly to a pastime of mine: creating a circuit, like a switching power supply, with as few transistors as possible, without compromising on performance. There isn't anything special about seven transistors, but it is a representative number, and a lot fewer than are used inside an IC for the same purposes! While these designs are not usually very practical, the experience as a design exercise is invaluable. Everything I do, I do to the same exacting standards, whether designing circuits, or merely answering questions.
