James is registered with the Registry Of Guitar Tutors and was the featured teacher in the September 2011 issue of Guitar Techniques (issue 195), and in addition isa fully trained Rockschool examiner and has full CRB disclosure.
Experience includes two years as a professional guitarist working for Bourne Leisure and Princess Cruises, also orchestra, studio recording work and over 2000 gigs, both nationally and internationally. Current activities include peripatetic teaching at Castle Rock High School in Coalville, Woodbrook Vale High School in Loughborough, and Humphrey Perkins High School in Barrow on Soar as well as private lessons.
In addition to this, James also writes and records original music and performs regularly around the Midlands with well known local covers bands Guilty Pleasures and Dave The Rock Band , and is available for solo bookings with a wide repertoire of classical / easy listening solo guitar music.
Private Lessons:
Lessons take place in a dedicated music room, facilities include 24 track digital recorder, a computer equipped with Line 6 Riffworks & Cubase VST sequencer software, PowerTab, Tux Guitar and Guitar Pro transcription software, a wide variety of instruments including drums, bass, keyboards, steel- and nylon- strung acoustic and a variety of electric guitars, TV and DVD player and basic repair facilities. Lessons are generally one-on-one, although parents are welcome to sit in (often recommended for younger students).
Lesson prices are £22 per hour, £13 for half an hour (recommended for younger students) or £17 for 45 minutes.
If you are unable to attend, please give 24 hours notice or full fee will be charged (although rescheduling can be arranged in some instances), and due to a busy schedule it is appreciated if students can stick as close as possible to their time slots.
Rockschool, RGT and Trinity Guildhall guitar grades can be catered for, depending on student's interest.
